What to Expect from a Nimble Service Call: From Dispatch to Digital Report

Most people have a story about a contractor who didn't show up when they said they would, quoted one price and invoiced another, or left without explaining what they actually fixed.

These experiences make it hard to know what a good service call is supposed to look like.

Nimble Doors was built specifically to change that experience. We've designed every step of the process around one goal: no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you reach out to the moment your door is working.

Step 1: Booking — Straightforward and Fast

You can request a service through our website in under two minutes, or call our Jobber Receptionist. We don't require a lengthy intake process or a deposit to get on the schedule. You'll tell us what you're experiencing — noise, the door won't open, a broken spring, an opener acting up — and we'll confirm a service window that works for you.

Same-day service is available in most cases. We know a garage door that won't open isn't a problem that can wait a week.

Step 2: Confirmation and Technician Profile

Once you're booked, you'll receive a confirmation with your appointment window and a profile of the technician who'll be coming to your home. You'll know who to expect before they arrive. Our technicians carry photo ID and are background-checked — if you're a homeowner letting someone into your garage while you work from home, that matters.

You'll also get a reminder as the appointment approaches, so you're not wondering whether we forgot.

Step 3: On-Site Diagnosis — We Inspect First

When your technician arrives, they don't start disassembling things or reaching for parts. They start by doing a full door system inspection: springs, cables, rollers, tracks, opener, sensors, and weather stripping. The goal is to understand the complete picture, not just fix the obvious symptom while missing what caused it.

Many door failures are interconnected. A noisy door that turns out to have a worn roller often also has a track that needs realignment and hinges that need lubrication. We'll find all of it and explain it clearly before any work begins.

Step 4: Digital Approval — No Pressure, No Surprises

Our standard callout rate is $180.00 and includes a full service on your door. A full service includes lubrication, fixing alignment issues, adjusting spring balance, tightening loose bolts and a door health report. Any major repairs needed will be quoted through our Jobber system so you can see the full extent of the work and pricing for your approval. You can ask questions, decline specific items, or take time to decide. We don't use the quote as a pressure tool.

Payment is only collected after the work is complete and you've had a chance to see it.

Step 5: The Work and the Written Report

Most residential repairs are completed during the same visit. We carry a full inventory of the most common parts — springs, rollers, cables, hinges, seals, you name it — so you're not waiting on a parts order for a routine repair.

When the work is done, you'll receive a digital report documenting:

  • Everything that was inspected

  • What was found and repaired

  • Any items noted for future attention with a recommended timeline

That report is yours to keep. It's useful for home maintenance records, insurance documentation, and knowing exactly where your door system stands.

Why This Process Was Built This Way

Transparent pricing, upfront diagnosis, digital documentation — none of this is accidental. It reflects a belief that home service should be built around the client's interests, not the contractor's convenience.

Our reviews reflect that. The feedback we hear most often from new clients is that they were prepared for a difficult experience and were pleasantly surprised. That's the bar we hold ourselves to on every call.
